I discovered John Templeton’s Trading in the Buff system while searching for price action forex strategies online and the no-hype approach on his sales page immediately appealed to me. I investigated further and was surprised to find many great reviews of this product in forums and on other sites that I usually visit for unbiased customer feedback. I purchased the Trading in the Buff course and was truly amazed by what I found inside. Inside this 45 page guide, John teaches a very simple 3-bar pattern that occurs frequently on all charts and time frames (even in non-forex markets). It’s a very straightforward pattern that is easy to recognize on the charts, but it’s definitely not one of the usual patterns you find in other price action or candlestick courses.

After reading through the guide I spent some time looking at the charts and was amazed by what I found. The Trading in the Buff patterns occured more often than I expected and more importantly, they appeared to be extremely reliable indicators of what price was going to do around certain levels. I immediately opened a new demo account and started monitoring the 1 Hour chart of the 4 major currency pairs – EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF and USDJPY. For the next 2 weeks I simply traded every 1-2-3 pattern that occured on the charts and completely ignored all other other factors like which way the main trend was going etc. The results were very impressive – I placed 8 trades over this period of which 7 were winners and I made a net profit of 200 pips. After this test I was so excited that I decided to shorten my normal test period and test this strategy on a live account.

That was about 8 months ago and to this day the Trading in the Buff system is still my number one preferred manual trading method. I’ve tried dozens of manual systems over the years and I can honestly say that this is the one that I have been the most impressed with by far. You don’t need any indicators on the charts and the success rate is very high if you follow the basic rules. In my own personal trading I experience a success rate of 80% when trading the Trading in the Buff 1-2-3 patterns and the truth is that virtually anyone can get these type of results with a bit of practice. I’ve exchanged many emails with John Templeton since I bought his course and I have to say that his support so far has been excellent. I truly believe that this is one of the best manual trading methods out there and I highly recommend that you try this method for yourself.

The only problem that I found with the Trading in the Buff course is the fact that John doesn’t really give you a step-by-step trading system in his guide. The manual teaches you a specific price action pattern in a lot of detail and John does give some ideas on how to trade these patterns, but he leaves it up to you to develop your own trading strategy.
