Million Dollar Pips Live Trading Started

Last week I mentioned that I purchased a VPS at Commercial Network Services. I’ve been running my live account on it since Tuesday and I have to say that I’m very impressed so far. The latency to the Alpari UK servers are exactly 1ms as promised and it’s really easy to use and set up. I’ve also set up Million Dollar Pips on the account now and so far it seems to be working quite well.Wallstreet Forex Robot also seems to be a bit more effective with the low latency, but it’s of course a little early to come to any conclusions.

Apart from the faster connection, the other thing I really like about the VPS is that it’s more reliable – it’s hosted in a datacenter that has a much more reliable network connection than my home ADSL line, it has backup power and all the other things offered by premium hosting providers and it has a nice autoboot feature that restarts Metatrader if it happens to crash or stop responding. All these things really makes trading with a forex robot a lot safer.

I plan to add another interesting EA to my testing portfolio this week, so keep an eye out for next week’s newsletter.

2. Live Account Performance

Forex Combo had another bad week and if it wasn’t for some Wallstreet Forex and Million Dollar Pips the account would have been down more than -9% for the week. For now I have reduced the lotsizes for Forex Combo to make sure that the risk is spread more evenly across the 3 EA’s, but I’m also rethinking my overall strategy on this account. I have a feeling that my current setup is more suitable for scalping strategies, so I might make some changes to the account over the next week.
